The Huts

Three brazilian people who went away and after wondering around the world, chose de fields of Cima da Serra as their place to live. And the way they found to remain hidden in the middle of the woods was to share their refuge.
Thus, Suravi, who grew up in a coffee farm in Araxa, Minas Gerais, owned a clothes shop and lived in India, Australia, Germany and the US – including Alaska! Took over the Casa de Babette restaurant, of which she is the mentor and chef.
With her, from the very beginning, was Alex, a musician who studied in Brazil and France, and who for seven years ran the Café at the Belas Artes Center in Belo Horizonte. In 1999, back to this state, he created Venerável Lama, a band of which he is singer, composer and guitarist. After France, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, he found his place among the trees and the tasks of administering the Lodge. He co-created the menu of the restaurant.
To join them came Ananta, a lawyer and manager who 25 years ago purchased the land and in it built the main house, from where the Lodge was born. He came as if not wanting to take responsibilities, but to participate, and ended up becoming the master carpenter, in charge of buildings and maintenance. He does his job whenever he is not in Santa Catarina or in the foothills of the Andes, in Chile.
And these three people, who dedicate themselves to the beautiful things that feed, warm the body and dress the soul, made their essential choice: to work with pleasure, taking care of the details without losing the main picture – the harmony between the strength and beauty of nature with the comforts of civilization, in one of the most beautiful sceneries in the country.
